Laya Healthcare is Ireland’s fastest-growing health insurance provider, delivering comprehensive health insurance along with preventative health and wellbeing support to more than 705,000 members nationwide.

The partnership between Laya Healthcare and Medihive began in 2016 with the launch of Care on Call, a telehealth service designed for Laya members. Building on this successful collaboration, Laya selected Medihive in 2019 to consolidate its diverse internal and external systems into a single, streamlined member app.

The Challenge

Laya’s goal was to enhance user experience by consolidating its digital presence into one Native iOS, Android, and Web Application. This required merging 5 internal and 4 external systems

Streamlined Processes

To enhance efficiency and user experience, Laya Healthcare partnered with Medihive to consolidate all internal systems and third-party integrations into a single, unified platform. This included seamless integration with Laya’s Benefit Management System and all external service providers.

A key component of the solution was the implementation of a centralised Identity and Access Management (IAM) system, enabling secure, automated verification of members’ policies and benefits.

At the heart of the transformation was the creation of a Digital Front Door — a single digital access point where members can conveniently manage all aspects of their healthcare journey. This includes online booking of partner services, accessing benefits, and engaging with telehealth support, all from one intuitive interface.
