Day Lewis Group is a national award-winning community pharmacy retailer dedicated to helping people “stay healthy and feel better.” As one of Europe’s largest independent pharmacy chains, they operate over 240 pharmacies across the UK .

The Day Lewis Group and Medihive began their partnership in 2023.

The Challenge

The organisation faced several challenges, including a heavy reliance on walk-in patients, which makes capacity planning difficult. Additionally, there were ongoing issues with measuring and reporting patient engagement with the services offered. Managing service offerings was also a challenge, particularly when it came to ensuring the availability and reliability of a third-party platform.

Our Solution

To address its operational challenges, the Day Lewis group implemented Medihive’s Pharmacy platform, chosen for its simplicity, configurability, and rapid deployment. The platform was successfully rolled out across 240+ locations within just two months.

Key features of the platform included:

  • A centralised management system for clinical services, resource availability, and scheduling, . Integrated tools such as staff scheduling, service creation, and inventory management
  • eCommerce functionality for seamless payments, video consultations, online pre-screening forms, and automated communications
  • Comprehensive reporting, with built-in Google Analytics, to track patient engagement effectively..

The Results

  • Optimised resource management: Pharmacy staff can efficiently manage schedules and availability.
  • Tailored local services: Teams can customise service offerings to meet community needs, such as health screenings and vaccinations.
  • Effortless patient referrals: Direct booking links shared with GP surgeries streamline the referral process and appointment scheduling.

“Pharmacy is rapidly moving towards being much more focused on service provision. Medihive has empowered us to adapt swiftly and proactively, seamlessly integrating into our customer journey and becoming an indispensable part of how we deliver exceptional care.”
